Events / Blockchain Gaming Expo
« on: March 17, 2019, 11:16:02 AM »
The team behind www.blockchaingaming.com is proud to present the Blockchain Gaming Expo, a convention dedicated to the intersection of blockchain technology and video games.  Its first iteration will occur in partnership with the CoinFest convention.

CoinFest has been in operation since 2013 in over a dozen countries around the world. It is 100% non-profit and volunteer-driven, ensuring maximal efficiency in their goal of spreading cryptocurrency adoption. They do this by having free-to-attend events at cryptocurrency venues, simultaneously around the world over a week-long period.

The first Blockchain Gaming Expo will be held in Vancouver, the birthplace of CoinFest. Special attention will be paid to blockchain gaming at this event, with multiple related companies having already confirmed their participation. Join us on April 6, and spread the word by sharing our Facebook event.

It looks easy to demonstrate on a news broadcast, so we'll probably have to do that  ;)

I'm going to be stuck in Dubai for our next Meetup, which is unfortunate because it is awesome. Blockchain technology, video games and weed are some of my favorite things. Qwoyn is combining them all with their 2nd game, HashKings, and local stoners are invited to come learn with us.

I think the highlight for me was Lightning Chess. Guaranteed to take over the local crypto hack space in Vancouver.

The event with Hoard went well, as always. Our February Meetup is going to be a bit different.

The blockchain gaming ecosystem has grown to the point where we can just meet up and play blockchain games together without a speaker... basically what normal video game Meetups do. Remote viewers will see the initial walkthroughs on the broadcast screen (including mobile games via USB streaming, but without sound), followed by scenes of us playing together.

Blockchain Gaming News Episode 6 can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBJlzktMS3o

We talked about HashKings giveaways and partnerships, our website progress and plans, the awesome announcement from Planet Digital, and platforms including TRON, EnjinCoin, OWO and Stasis.

We also discussed the nature of the blockchain gaming platform war and parallels to the console wars, such as how to get third-party support, games porting from one platform to another, and the similarities between PC gaming and various ETH games without an underlying blockchain gaming platform.

Gaming Platforms / Re: TRON and Crypto Gaming

They are very good at marketing and PR. Their value as a currency has been questioned by many of the more established platforms out there.

It's all about that dev fund

Moved this one to the platforms section since it's not about one particular game

Welcome! Your profile has been upgraded to "Media" status

I mostly just meant to draw comparison to EnjinCoin in that they also entered the blockchain gaming market suddenly with the intention to rival established players, and they succeeded in getting a foothold. I have likened them to the Xbox in that regard.

I personally like when platforms try to utilize as many of the blockchain gaming use cases as they can. I like your focus on provable fairness... most platforms have been neglecting the concept due to the hype over true ownership. Hopefully you get more people building games with it

It's impressive that you have some third party support for your platform, already. You guys are coming out swinging, but you still have a lot of catching up to do with other platforms. Then again, that's what I said about EnjinCoin a couple years ago, and now they're in the lead. ;)

I'm curious about the ways in which your platform utilizes blockchain technology for video games besides in-game cryptocurrency. We identified 6 use cases outlined on the homepage of www.blockchaingaming.com. Are game items on the blockchain, for example?

Blockchain Games / Re: HashKings is Coming to Steem
« on: January 22, 2019, 05:27:00 AM »
Looks like somebody found his post before he could come edit it. :P I just fixed the BBcode for him, but he'll still come back later to add a general description before this news item regarding Steemit.

This isn't meant to be a stupid question, so here goes: Is there any real world tie-in to your game? With more and more countries and states legalizing cannabis, I think it's fantastic to see more legit commerce and trade happening on the blockchain. The game looks quite interesting!

It's funny you should mention real-life tie-in... he was working on DappCaps (blockchain pogs) before, which are physical game items. I'm unaware of such experimentation with HashKings, though... I thought it was a weed-growing empire game. Maybe he'll correct me

I think I asked this to one of your fans in our Facebook group, but for the sake of informing our forum: if you are giving coins away to people for playing, what gives them value? Do they have a utility, such as use in a marketplace? It's good to discuss token economics

You should make your own thread about Stasis Gaming if you will have more news to announce in the future, however. You can add a new post every now and then to update people who are watching it
